Re: Main Dealer Servicing

I asked that Duke and great question. The response I got from Kawasaki is below: "We understand that some owners may wish to use an independent dealer or carry out the work themselves. However, in the unlikely event an issue arises with a machine, Kawasaki cannot accept responsibility or cover ...

Re: What do you want to vent about today?

We buy alot of goods from John Lewis too as find they have knowledgeable, helpful staff, often price match and can often provide free extended warranties. Slightly off subject. Have you looked at the Nationwide Gold card Deegee? We use it as it provides an additional 12 months product insurance. Cou...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

Sounds like we have all had bad experiences which isn't great to hear as it means it's common place and that good dealers with good technicians are rarer than you think. The worrying bit is alot of it is done on blind trust as you assume their a main dealer, their bikers, their helpful and thereore ...

Re: Silverstone MotoGP

Silverstone wanted to wait till much later than 4pm before they cancelled. I believe race direction took the decision at 4pm but Silverstone wanted to race right up to dusk. I suspect they had been reviewing their insurance and realised they were on a sticky wicket regards paying out for a no race s...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

Depends on the dealer. You can be sure that if you mention the name of a dealer someone will pipe up with "I had a bad experience there". Sadly mechanics are human like everyone else and the can miss things. Then there are the dealers who don't give a shit. Action Motorcycles in Redditch ...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

A warranty isn't void if not dealer serviced Duke that's a common mis understanding to be fair. It has to be serviced in line with manufacturers specifications and schedules, with oem parts but the work can be carried out by anyone competent to do so. I've made warranty claims with Kawasaki when the...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

For now Duke I'm happy with it as is and prefer a reliable stock engine tbh.

If I want more performance I can just take the Duke out for a thrash

Limited to 500. They've got some special con-rods in them which makes the bikes so expensive.

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

I have had a bad experience with a Honda dealer on recall work before also. As far as I can see it's quote common, well is so in my experience. That said I did use the Ducati main dealer with no issues and although I prefer to home service I decided to use the main dealer to protect residual value a...

Quick looks at the link says "Triumph Daytona 675, only up to VIN # 564947" and mine is a later bike so assume the above is correct.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

You could use TuneECU to change the temp that the fans come on. Won’t make it run any cooler but might stop it going over 105 at traffic lights. http://www.tuneecu.com I was told you cannot use Tune ECU on the 13 MY bikes. I read it somewhere and a dyno centre I spoke to said the same. I believe it...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

Valve clearances aren't as difficult as you might think R1ckster, if you follow a procedure with plenty of decent photographs, work methodically and triple check everything you do. If your happy and competent at home servicing and can change spark plugs, it might be worth trying the clearance check ...
