Re: The new improved fitness thread

... hangover from the stag do, and it's only my 3rd run since July. Needless to say it hurt, but came in at a respectable 56 mins. Last road race of the year, now to focus on trails and rebuild my fitness for next year.

Re: First off road lesson

That's not good about the protection of expect better too. Shame about the bike I guess they should be looking after their bikes as its not like they travel on smooth tarmac but across hard terrain. But hope you had a good day none the less. Could you ask for a bit of a refund for only experiencing ...

Re: Graduated Driving Licences

... ^^ I know it was quite controversial when it was introduced, but it's now working well IMO. I don't see why one path to using a vehicle on the road should be different from another. I also think the driving test should show what happens when you don't follow the training and advice. They did ...

Re: Graduated Driving Licences

New driver. On a road that was new to her. Driving fast. In the wet. You can't legislate for that, you just can't. And when is excess speed NOT a major factor in accidents of this kind...?? You guys have a really good driving/licensing ...

Re: Honda GB400 TT

... fast, smooth and great handling, I’ll jump on the Multi. So got home, took it off the trailer. Started it up and let it warm up well. Off down the road and within two mins it stopped dead. A couple of mins later it started no problem. The fuel has been in the bike for a few months so wondered if ...

Joanna Lumley - Silk Road. She is in Iran. Looks fabulous. One of those places I would love to visit.

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

Aside from outright performance the biggest plus for me is the ability to see the road further ahead than you can on a sports bike.

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

Adventure bikes can embarrass sportsbikes on the road.

I test rode a GS and a Multistrada and unless you ride like a dick it would be hard to go any quicker on any motorcycle tbh.

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

Thing is these sort of bikes have suspension better suited to road use, even fast road use. They handle so much better than they ever used to.

Re: Kwacky's ongoing Africa Twin Adventure Sport review

... tracker Quickshifter (Stonsie's fault for having one on his MT, Duke's fault for telling me to get one) Short term plan is to run it in until the roads get salted, then the Versys will take over. There are a lot of green and muddy areas near me, so I want to try it out off road but I need to make ...

Re: A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports

I did like the DCT, but I felt a little disconnected from the bike. Plus I lacked confidence doing little things like a turn in the road. It's a tall and heavy bike so I had to put my trust in the DCT to work for me the way I wanted. I'm sure it's just me being a dinosaur but I feel more ...

Re: First off road lesson

That's not a very good way to run a business if the equipment isn't doing its job. The steering head bearings had gone and you could feel the steering drop. The cost was 225.00 for the day with maximum of I think 10 people. There were 6 new bikes but it was the 2 smaller ones which were old and not...

Re: First off road lesson

That's not a very good way to run a business if the equipment isn't doing its job. Doesn’t bode well for the future of the business if you can’t afford to repair/replace faulty kit and machinery. Glad you had a good time despite the schools shortcomings BB, sounds like the serial crasher had been b...

Re: First off road lesson

Two wheels is all about enjoyment and fun imho BB, rain on a rocky course isn’t great, but on a dirt course it kills the dust and let’s it get a bit loose. (y) My fear was my strength would let me down, especially over some of the more demanding areas but although it was hard work at times the diff...
