... the Versys forum I've mentioned I'm taking an Africa Twin out and I'm getting horror stories of them spilling oil and needing a new engine after being dropped, how owners don't keep them for long as they're crap, they're too heavy (this from Versys owners!), not enough power(again, Versys owners!) ...

... to their own. I had chinese jobs on my R1 and never had issues and when down in town.. and also on the nurburgring.. and still worked fine after being smacked. Maybe i was just lucky. nevertheless they worked and cost a quarter price and looked the biz.

Fwiw I use a cheap Chinese folding clutch lever on my bike. Perfectly good enough, & it's folding ability has saved it being broken (or breaking the perch) numerous times. I got mine a few years back from eBay as a pair, for about £ 14. iirc.!! Having said that, there is no way ...

I think she's being very practical to be honest, and showing a good amount of foresight. Women, especially mothers, can do that in ways that men can only dream about. They're just wired that way.
