Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.

Also not to pee on your chips D, it's 14 post days not 2 weeks. It excludes Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I know this for a fact as I researched it very thoroughly after going through a speed trap at over 150! I still imagine him spitting his coffee and dropping his doughnut.

Re: Squeaky bum time (onboard from snetterton)

you make knee down look very easy :) Only left handers, really struggle on the rights for some reason I have the exact same issue in that I am more comfortable in lefts than rights, I read somewhere its to do with being right handed and that that side is stronger than the left hence being better wh...

Re: This sort of thing always chokes me up

My Grandad was there D-day + 8 as an ambulance driver. I've always regretted not asking him to tell me more about it but always got the impression that it was very difficult to talk about it so never pushed him. Plus at the time I had bigger things to worry about like my fraperchino not being served...

Re: Rsv

Cracking bike, always fancied one. Especially this one although I appreciate the colour scheme is a bit marmite. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/APRILIA_RSV_1000_R_BOL_DOR.jpg Looking forward to hearing them new cans on the next ride. I'll never forget the noise following 8 RSVs a...

Re: Engine temps again

Alan and Chris, I would take the fan off and clean the rad fins out. To be honest it's not a big job to take the rad off an clean it properly.

I did mine a few years ago and while it was off sprayed it with exhaust paint

Re: Engine temps again

Didnt Tim have problems with his over heating and it turned out to be a faulty water pump ?? :? Not sure if it was a faulty water pump so much as a faulty water pump fitter (giggle) Hub's bike had an overheating problem that he never got to the bottom of though. I'm wondering if the 650 has a diffe...

Re: Squeaky bum time (onboard from snetterton)

Didn't watch all the vid but I'd say you need to move up to inters. Your relative speed to most of the others is too big and recon you'd feel a lot safer in inters.

It's much easier and it all flows better when you're arriving at a corner doing similar speeds to the other bikes around you.

Re: Engine temps again

Feck me they're all broken! I'd try cleaning your rad and making sure there is enough water in first. I jet wash mine very carefully from the inside out where you can get at it and then outside in where you can't. Be careful around the fan. I've been doing that for the last 7 years (same bike) witho...

Re: Engine temps again

Can't remember exactly but think the stat is full open around 78c. So if your moving at a fair rate it shouldn't go much above that even on a hot day. If your stopped and there's no air flow over the rad it will go up to 105 fairly quickly and then back down to 100 when the fan comes on. Should neve...

Re: Engine temps again

My 600 did when I was stuck in traffic. Must have been something wrong with yours as well then. The only time mine has ever gone over 105 is when I had a leaky rad. Oh and he two times I didn't shut the bleed valve properly. Alan check the fins on the rad are clear, try shining a torch from inside ...
