Re: New Panigale V4R

Not seen the R model close up but the other V4 bikes look better in the flesh than pictures imo.

Re: New Middleweight RSV

A 660 vtwin would get hammered in Supersport.

Would have preferred an 800 tbh with similar performance to an 848.

Really hope they do a Daytona 765RS. A triple cylinder supersport bike with a little more poke in a sharp chassis would sell like hot cakes imo.

Re: Talking of silly over powered bikes..

Goes like that sometimes.

I've missed a few deals over the years which I regret as timing was off or I hesitated.

Good deals rarely hang around.

Re: Talking of silly over powered bikes..

There was one for sale on the PB Forum. It was almost new in appearance and had had a lot of time and money spent on it. I was very tempted to buy it. They're stonking bikes. It's a 2003 model, currently has 29900 miles on the clock (less than 2000 miles a year). It's got Carbon Dymag wheels in per...

Re: Talking of silly over powered bikes..

I think the 1299 feels so brutal on acceleration as the rev range is much shorter being a twin and as such its has bout 25% more torque than an il4 which translates that the drive comes in much harder and more aggressive. It makes peak power some where like 10500rpm where is the v4s I rode has more ...

Re: Talking of silly over powered bikes..

I think the Panigale has a typo error at 0-120 mph so just ignore that. 0-60 and to a certain degree 0-100 will be close despite the 90bhp difference in power outputs as traction and gearing will have more of an effect in the first part of any acceleration. But look at the 0-150 on the Panigale it's...

Re: Talking of silly over powered bikes..

Manufacturers do seem to be competing for bhp bragging rights these days it seems.

Here's some performance figures for 2 bikes I rode back to back last week.

Re: New Panigale V4R

I test rode the v4s with Akrapovic full system for 240 miles. Was it too much? yes of course it was but then so is my wife's 2 litre diesel that will do 130 mph in a country with a max speed limit of 70mph. Would I buy one? Yes most definitely it was by far the best 240 miles of motorcycling I have ...

Re: What are you doing today ??

Nice chilled day today.

Started with a lie in, then family breakfast, took lad to football, watched Motogp, family country walk and then the local Italian for way too much food (blush)

Re: True cost of phone ownership

That's true Duke, but rightly or wrongly I always think the performance drops off after 2 years. I know Apple got caught for enabling a performance drop on their handsets after 2 years but the I think perhaps they all do it. I've always been Samsung and they seem to loose performance after 2 years a...

Re: True cost of phone ownership

You probably know this Nutz but be careful what features are enabled on the SIM if it's not the network who you buy from and a reseller. I looked at Plusnet SIM only. They use the EE network but the Wi-Fi calling was not enabled on Plusnet SIM. Obviously the networks are keeping some features to the...

Re: True cost of phone ownership

I think you have to look at this on a deal by deal base. I pay a contract at £21.99 for 24 months so a total of £528 The phone I selected was available at the cheapest price of £499. Even with a very basic £5 sim, which tbh didn't have the same data or EE Wi-Fi calling enabled as my contract phone t...
