Quite a bit of the route is on byways and would be ideal for a bit of green laning . I was thinking that on the east round.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

12 and a bit more trail run today.

Bloody tough in the wind and rain, plus freshly plouged fields and sticky mud.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

My PT has said that we'll only go heavy once every 4 to 6 weeks. He reckons I'll see more progress with his new plan. He's a big believer in switching things around.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

3rd day back at it for me today. With plans for my training to skyrocket this year combined with an awareness that if I go ballistic straight away I'm going to injure myself, I've been pushing but not too hard. Weights are pretty light but pushing out up to 20 reps means I can't go too heavy anyway....

Re: The new improved fitness thread

How are you this morning, Kwacky? First gym sessions are never easy. I've started week 3 of couch to 5k and it's a sizeable jump up in time per run. I'm now doing ( 90 run / 90 walk / 3mins run / 3mins walk ) x2. I haven't done the math but my actual distance covered is significantly less this way r...

Back to the gym. New year and new routines. Slowed controlled reps for muscle burn out.

I dunno, I remember Kwacky messing himself up pretty bad. Not sure how much metal work it cost him though.

But yeah St Marks very happy with the job she did and she seemed to be as well.

Re: The Football Thread

I hate Pulis. The man gives football a bad name but i have a nasty feeling Boro might get promoted.

Re: The Football Thread

A dire game for us. Really dull. Boro buy fouls and time waste. Ref booked our player for diving in what was a stone cold penalty. He missed 2 hand balls as well.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

I did a 20-odd mile bicycle ride yesterday & it killed me. My lower back was knackered afterwards.
Which means I should probably have a go at it again today. We'll see.

Re: The new improved fitness thread

It can all change in a blink Cav. I remember when Nutz started the running lark I was in full swing running up to 80-90km a week at 4.5 - 5 min/Km's. He said he didn't know how I did it. Now the bugger is running trail marathons and I can't even run around the block! (lol) So true. I ran fleet half...

Re: The Football Thread

I hate the British Press, any other top team plays badly but still wins over one of their biggest rivals its the 'mark of champions' to play badly but still get the win. Spurs do it and we are fatigued, Poch has a crisis as the squad wont last till the end of the season, falling away mid season etc....
