Re: Police Motorcyclist Killed in RTA

Loddon Valley is just down the road from me poor bloke. Just talked to my misses and she said she heard he was on one of the shows like Road Wars too. 91 year old woman and still driving? Is that really for the best? Thoughts out to the family

Re: Sleep motorbiking

Ah the penny drops, so at least 98% of the other drivers I see on the road are doing this.... It all makes sense to me now...

Re: What are you doing today ??

I've emailed work and told them in only going in if it's safe to drive. It's still snowing here and my road is quiet and not gritted. It's a 70 mile round trip and one I would prefer not to have to do.

Re: What are you doing today ??

Putting our led light net up in the dining room ceiling, whilst the snow was piling up outside, about 3 inches in around 6 hrs, every B road and above is at a standstill. It’ll be carnage in the morning.....

Re: End of days

... field and about 80% of us fell over. My dad being a linesman was up a power pole 30 km from the epicentre and watched powerlines snap and the road open up below him, but got through it unscathed ( apart from some soiled undies!)

Re: 9km of track

... about beating the track" - or something along those lines. And something else I read years ago..."Any dickhead can be fast on a road they know well....being fast on a road you don't know is something else entirely ".

Re: wives, partners and girlfriends

... When the wife & I were still together she also had a bike...we'd even do trackdays together, although we very seldom rode together on the road. But that's just L.A. - you see a lot of lasses riding bikes out here, and they're every bit as capable as the guys for the most part. And even ...

Re: Ride or not ride tomorrow?

I'm off tomorrow. If it was going to work it would be in the car. Fresh snow with road tyres and no traction control is something I'll leave to the heroes and nutters.

Riding in falling snow is really weird. It's very easy to get disorientated.

Re: Police Motorcyclist Killed in RTA

... A change in how we view our driving entitlement.: Compulsory re-testing for all drivers at set periods. Having a licence to drive on the road should be an earned privilege, not a lifetime entitlement IMHO.

Re: Green laning

Fwiw I love my little old MTX200 for playing about. Road legal ( & road useable, not always the same thing) light enough to pick up when you crash, which you will. I also love taking the MTX out when the lanes round here are snow covered. Pretty ...
