Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
What was the rationale in limiting the HP output on the US bikes considering there are so many stock models for sale here producing far more than 101? Come to think of it, I think my 11 year old Daytona probably produces around 90-95 horses.

... good point Duke made is bikes like the 1299 come with power modes so you can keep the full power mode for track work and have a very civilised road bike also by selecting a different map. Not in anyway trying to persuade you towards a litre bike but just suggesting maybe try and blag a few ...

... there is plenty of wealthy owners willing to use their priceless kit as the manufacturer intended. Plus you see quite a few Desmosedici's on the road and at track days so although I agree seeing one will be rare I think it has at least potential to happen.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Kwacky is going to love this. The European bike makes 159 bhp in road trim and over 212 bhp with the £8700 sport kit. However US market bikes are restricted to 101 bhp and legal reasons prevent the sale of the sports kit. However it could be worse especially ...

Re: France bans use of headphones whilst driving/riding
I used headphones on the road all the time when I was commuting to the refinery and most of my trip in NZ. I've got custom molded ones, with an inline volume that I stick out the top of my zip. I have it at a volume I can still hear around ...

Re: France bans use of headphones whilst driving/riding
Yup they have bought in quite a few little laws to try and help road accidents and fatalities which have started to go up I think. The quality of french driving (especially in towns and cities) is appalling and is following the trend of poorer driving standards ...

Re: France bans use of headphones whilst driving/riding
Am amazed someone hasn't thought to ban them over here as well, anything that detracts from from your full attention on the road and what's going on around you is a hazard imho, headphones are near the top of my personal list of "things that should be banned for drivers/riders/cyclists/pedestrians ...

... in to pay for the fuel they have just put in the tank, only to come back and find the bike gone with a couple of scumbags seen pushing it up the road via one of the scumbags pushing it with his foot from the scooter he is riding. Make sure you put your steering lock on as this stops them doing it.

Re: Road-going Honda RCV unveiled
Apparently the red, white and blue colour scheme is homage to Spencers 82 NS500 triple, which was the first GP bike from the newly formed HRC.
But if you don't like that you can have it in pre season test chic bare carbon fibre

True...lol
Ban them from the main roads anyway regardless... they prowl in dodgy lycra packs now all days through the week and weekends, they do my head in, nobody overtakes, so we all end up doing 0 miles an hour on a national speed limited road... pisses me off...
