... that day....I know I went through a living hell as a kid during the miner's strikes....I'd hide in my room and peer out the window waiting for him to come home safely, but at least come home. And I wouldn't change any of it....we were always moving house when I was a teeny bairn, and the cop ...

Yeah....he's doing fine....I don't get to see him much at the moment because of various family reasons...but that's prolly for the best. That may sound a bit daft....but I just really can't go into detail about it ATM....legal stuff & all that.

Re: My Lad Wants a Dirt Bike
Don't they have to change the piston rings after so many hours on a 2 stroke? I don't know if a 125 will be too powerful for him? That was my point. A Honda XR 125 is a four stroke. reliable, stable and a great platform to learn on without being too powerful. Honda XR125L equipped with ...

Re: My Lad Wants a Dirt Bike
Being fresh to bikes I'd get him a four stroke to start with. Being a slight lad I reckon a Honda XR 125 would be a good start. Those XR's are bullet proof and have enough power to keep a beginner excited without being a handful. I dirt ...

My Lad Wants a Dirt Bike
... he wants a dirt bike. He's never ridden a bike, but has been on the back of mine. He's 15 and I've said if he does well in his GCSE's I'll buy him one. We are not far from a proper dirt bike track. What bike would you get him? He's about 5'6". Small wheel or large wheel? What cc? What ...

I'd not heard it before.
I tried to tell a friend of mine who "battles with his weight". Either he didn't want to know, thought I was lying, or he thought I was having a dig at him.

No Rossgo, I'm leaving him to it. I don't want to push it. If he can do the inspection over time when he's got a few minutes he's not going to charge me full whack on the hourly rates, which is what he would need to do if he has to set ...

I guess so, Blade, but the timescale to prove you are worthy of that ride is very short and can kill a career just as quickly. Would have been good to see him develop a bit more first.
