KTM Birmingham say they can't hold onto the superdukes and adventure bikes.

Re: KTM to stop building road-going superbikes?

Very sad, they make great bikes too. I'm not surprised as the RC8 so nearly didn't get made a number of times.

Ktm didn't sell all its RC8s and I don't think it made any money for the company either. Sounds more like a money decision than a 'safety' decision tbh.

Re: Kawasaki H2 Insurance

I suspect as you point out that there is specialist insurance out there which would get you a much lower price. People who have converted their bikes with turbos and the like have been able to get insurance at reasonable prices so presumably it's the reasons you've posted that are causing the ...

Re: Kawasaki H2 Insurance

I don't suppose it helps they are all hand built in limited numbers. Spares costs must make the risk of right off very high I guess, still 30% of the bikes value for one years insurance does seem steep IMO.

Re: Kawasaki H2 Insurance

I did a quote on a superleggra on comparison websites and cheapest quote was over £7000 but going to a Ducati specialist dropped it massively to £1900 but still expensive, although as Kwacky says it goes with the territory of buying and owning exotic bikes.

Yes I will try and upload some later. I am absolutely knackered now. Frankie took a load of photos. There were some gorgeous ex -race 748/916 bikes there. https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/11156338_915424888478574_3470319843557051748_n.jpg?oh=3e714da287245c0919efa20a2b137130&oe=55A31F6C ...

Re: That there London

If it comes into effect in 2020 the bikes would be 13 years old so shouldn't effect too many, but agree not good policy.

Once a biker....always a biker

... throw my leg over a motorcycle again....but it doesn't stop me loving them - a point brought home to me today when I saw a couple of contrasting bikes that made me grin like an eejit . First up was a parked up 09 plate red Ducati 848. It was achingly beautiful A tiny jewel that looked like it ...

What year is your bike? There was a major recall for 2008 and 2009 bikes. Do you know the date of manufacture. Might be worth a chat with ktm dealer locally as they will see if it had the recall for some gearbox internals. I get the odd false neutral on mine, ...

Spanked it over to Stow for some cake.

Had a play with a Tiger on the way back

Swapped bikes with Perkles and had a go on his RC8. I love the handling on that bike.
