Re: Best use of unwanted Xmas pressies

... about "Dixon Of Dock Green" in it....what the fcuk is that all about? I've never seen the show, as it was on TV about 4 million years before I was born. And who would even write this thing? I'm sure dozens of people will be flocking to the library/bookstore for this work of literary ...

Re: What ails you today?

It's a phone call lottery to get in to see my GP. If you call before 9am, you've got no chance. If you call mid afternoon, you can get in, if the receptionist picks up the phone.

Re: SPOILERS - The Last Jedi - SPOILERS

... favourite scenes have to be the guardroom fight and the Skywalker v Solo duel. The former because it's just fecking beautiful on the eyes, that's before the fights, the storyline, the joining of the enemies... and the latter for the nod to old Samurai films. Very little sword play, loads of tension ...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

... and I hit a few PBs. I rarely bother with bench press and when I do it I tend to do the same weights, never more than 50kg. Did 6 reps of 65kg before needing a spot. Leg press is usually around 240kg and I hit 295kg. My PT told me to do 4 to 6 on that weight and I managed 10, so I can clearly ...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

10k trail race this morning. Never raced 10k trail before so had no idea how to pace it, went flat out and only missed my road PB by 5 seconds. 49:20, happy with that. Seems like all the distance training hasn't killed my pace on the shorter distances

Re: What are you doing today ??

I’d be interested too! Loved those cars when I was younger, we got all the British cast off in NZ before they started importing used jap cars in the mid 90’s. I had a 1964 Mk 1 Cortina as my first car!! There were heaps or euro cars too, Lada’s, Fiats, Alfa’s, VW’s etc.

... of the chargers for a deep cycle. Sunday, I've got a 10k trail race. Should be a giggle, its going to be muddy and I've never raced 10 on trail before so pacing should be interesting,

SPOILERS - The Last Jedi - SPOILERS

... for The Last Jedi there was no need to worry about Snoke's backstory or Luke's future. I think it helped me watching Empire Strikes Back the night before I saw this film, because what Yoda tells Luke during their training is pretty much spot on on the Last Jedi and it sets out why the script writers ...

Re: Star Wars - The Last Jedi

I loved it. If you're going to see it, remove any notion of what you think it's going to be about. And I recommend you watch Empire Strikes Back before, as the film makes a bit more sense if that's fresh in your mind.

Re: What are you doing today ??

Trying to get an emergency appointment at the Dentist, I broke a molar last night eating an orange of all things, what I thought was a pip was actually a chunk of tooth. Not quite what I wanted 10 days before Crimbo. |(

... It's now I'm a bloody dad, I couldn't see a kid in pain. Ruining my film enjoyment. I also started watching Alien convenant, but we landed before I barely got half way through, but seemed exactly the same as Promethous so far. And a bit shit. Might have watched another film, but I've forgot ...
