More posturing and bluffing by Putin is my guess. From my layman's perspective, they seem to spend quite a bit of effort to convince their citizens that they're, in fact, doing well.

Very nice car mate, and I'm glad to see you enjoying your success now. When I was a kid, it used to kill me to see all these nice cars being driven by retired types, so the fact that you are able to get one while you're young is awesome (y)

Re: The Oscars

Does anyone outside of Hollywood give a shit? It's very difficult for me to understand how celebrity-obsessed our culture is, and how arrogant Hollywood-types are to believe that we should pay such great attention to them. My admiration is reserved for those persons who make true, meaningful contri...

A four hour surgery to insert many pins, another three days in the hospital due to the amount of skin that was torn off the foot, requiring a drain.

Plus a long and painful recovery road.

Thanks for the thoughts, folks. He has surgery scheduled for this morning, the ortho doc told him last night that it was the worst he'd ever seen. I'll let everyone know how that goes.

Very unfortunate reminder today Slappers... my best friend decided to take his race bike out in his neighborhood for a brief keep-the-fluids-going warm up, not geared up for anything but a brief pootle. Having recently done a track day he had his slow-to-warm race slicks on, and it's a cold day in t...

Some old videos of my kids that I took on an old phone. I found the phone yesterday and charged it out of curiosity. Amazing to see the changes in them!

Re: Putting Your Kids On Facebook

I would be for allowing your kids to enjoy the experience. I assume they would not be named and no personal info shared, only their image? No harm in that IMO. For comparison sake, my kids were on the local news (and thusly were identified) when my eldest was given an honor for some charity work she...

Sons of Liberty. I'm sure some will argue it's revisionist history, but I've approached it with an open mind and find it fascinating. It's caused me to do some research which has revealed some mistakes in the show, but I've enjoyed it nonetheless.

Some pretty vicious high sides in there. I was admiring the presence of the air fence, then the guy crashes into the chain link at the 2 min mark (facepalm)
