Re: Biking other halves

Pass on my condolences and wish her luck from me for Sunday. There isn't to much to be nervous about with it. On my CBT I stalled the bike and then failed to roll off 3 times in a row oblivious to a police car with the blues going directly behind me till the instructor pointed it out over the radio ...

Re: Watchout, there's a horsebox about

I do wonder if a speed camera detector may be in order, illegal or not. The ones that have the database of camera locations and alert you may do you some good but the ones that detect laser targeting are pretty pointless aren't they? Lasers travel at 300km/s by the time the device registers its bee...

Re: Chicken Strips

Just for interest I picked up a abba tyre change kit a while back so ended up doing a lot of hunting on the web for cheap tyres delivered. This site delivered a Metzler M5 interact rear to my door for £80 http://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto-tyre-finder" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fals...

Re: Watchout, there's a horsebox about

for fear of bringing this back on topic (which I seem to recall is frowned upon) I did read that the police commissioner for Humberside wants to install a ton of hidden cameras (coloured covertly, concealed by bushes etc), however unlike their visible counterparts you would need to be doing double t...

Re: Biker down!

normally I sleep on my side so any arrangement while sleeping on my back (which I've had of late) feels odd to me but yes they are not in any configuration I would ever have expected to have them when I purchased them. almost try to get it so the sholder sits just off them so it's sits back a bit. m...

Re: Biker down!

Yep, you need to go hard on the physio and home exercises. It's the little things you remember on your road to recovery, like being able to cut your own food or shave yourself or raise your arm above your shoulder. It comes, but in stages. Till I have my 6 week check up I'm not allowed to even star...

Re: Biker down!

....He left the company and then text me 2 weeks ago saying he saw a smashed bike on the road side thought of me and wanted to see how I'm doing. Had to damn near send him a photo of the surgical scar featuring my face and the bbc news home page before he would belive me I'd crashed my bike too and...

Re: Biker down!

Glad your ok Hubington and happy enough to wtite about it. As far as I know they use titanium or surgical grade stainless steel and due to neither being magnet they don't set off airport security scanners. That explains why the notes I keep trying to attach to myself with fridge magnets keep fallin...

Re: Biker down!

Sorry to hear about the off. Muscle wasting happens incredibly quickly. My arm was the same diameter as my wrist after a few weeks. Like Duke, my metalwork hasn't trigged anything, so you should be fine :) But my arms weren't to far off your wrists before the crash. On the up side shouldn't take me...

Re: Biker down!

Iirc there was someone at his work who wanted to take his bike for a spin, & he wasn't keen on the idea.? That's a proper bump though, can't see the rider being entirely intact after that sort of impact. Hope it isn't Hubs' :^ :? Do you think it will make a trackbike project.? He left the compa...

Re: Biker down!

Good to hear from you Hubington and glad you are in a position that will mend OK. To be honest, if the bike has had that much frontal impact i'm pretty sure the insurers will write it off as a total loss. The frame will have taken a big force at the headstock. My metalwork has yet to set off airpor...

Re: Biker down!

He's not posted on here for ages. No idea why he stopped using the site. Send him my regards and wish him a speedy recovery. Out of interest does he know what the final mileage was on the bike? I think it was around 56,000 when I sold it to him. I think it was about 44k miles when you sold me it an...

Re: Biker down!

Hello, Yeah i had a smidge of a bumb/head on collision with both vehicles doing 30mph. Ultimatly I'm going to be ok although i might have a bit more fun at airport security going forwards. Don't want to say to much just yet about what happened but I was lucky enough no be thrown in open road post co...

Re: someone wants to take the bike round the car park

I had a long well thought out reply ready with notorised thank yous, and then I hit preview and it told me I needed to log back in and lost the post. In short (although he has yet to ask again since) I'm sticking to my guns and have come up with almost a dozen against type arguments from peoples pos...

Re: F**ktard of the day goes to..

It's quite an issue in London now with wealthy Arabs driving super cars around like a racetrack apparently. Fifth gear this week had a feature, it costs them £10k to ship them over to use them for a few weeks! Mainly Lamborghini Aventadors this year apparently :^ It's a bain of the residents lives,...

Re: someone wants to take the bike round the car park

I have to be a bit diplomatic about it as I have to work with the guy and we are a small team so 'F off' will land me in HR. Also he is technically above me on the company structure although I don't think he actually realises that. Equally I don't think he realises how uncomfortable he is making thi...

Re: someone wants to take the bike round the car park

Not in a million years. Even experienced riders struggle riding at low speeds in a confined space. Show him the clip from The Inbetweeners where Jay picks up a motorbike and crashes it. Tell him that's what you're worried about. Irony of irony, the dealership where that happened if the one I ride p...

Re: someone wants to take the bike round the car park

Thanks guys. I guess as much as anything I needed someone to reasure me I wasn't being a ****. Next time he asks I'll suggest a dealership test ride and see how he responds to that. If he reviels that he hasn't got a valid uk licence for bikes on top of not being insured then im pretty sure I can ma...

someone wants to take the bike round the car park

There is a new lad on my team at work, he says he used to ride a 250 back in India but that was 6 years ago. He keeps bugging me to let him take the CBR600rr round the car park. I've said no as he isn't insured (although in a private car park you technically don't need to be do you?) and it's a lot ...

exidous?

So back in the day there was an exidous from d600.org to tankslap, will there now be an exiodus from tankslap to tankslap 2.0?

If so I'm going to bask in the fact that I have a higher post count than Darren for a bit as it won't take him 5 mins to have flooded the boards!
