Re: Brexit Round 2

If she loses the next one next week, does that mean we have a GE? In which case I presume common sense would mean that Article 50 is revoked before an election? My prediction bearing in mind we live in unprecedented times. She'll put the exact same deal back to the house with some wishy washy lette...

Re: Brexit Round 2

The general election will go ahead with the Brexit clock ticking. If May cancelled Brexit before a GE she would end the Tory party. The best you can hope for is an extension She is doing a damn good job of finishing the Tory party anyway :D how they ever expect to encourage young people to join the...

Re: Brexit Round 2

But she's known that since the last general election. And there in lies the truth. She's known this from the very start and she's not even involved her own party or even most of her cabinet never mind the opposition. She's simultaneously failed both sides of the argument. That vote on the the gover...

Re: Brexit Round 2

Theresa May actually tried to claim that she would be holding cross-party talks with her own party. Seriously.

Re: Brexit Round 2

Agreeing with me is not obligatory, quite the reverse but even May won't allow a no deal in the end.

Re: Brexit Round 2

It's entirely up to May, no one else has a say at the moment.

She could revoke article 50 and call a referendum. She could extend article 50 and try to renegotiate with the EU or she could call a general election.

What she doesn't have is a mandate for no deal and Parliament won't allow it.

Re: Brexit Round 2

FFS there is a clear Labour BREXIT strategy, agreed by the whole party at conference. The Labour Party is a democracy, not a dictatorship and it's all written down if anyone could be arsed to read it. The media clearly won't point it out for you. The media want you all to believe that its Corbyn's d...

Who told you that? And why would you believe anyone at the moment?

If you believe the press, he's both simultaneously a remainer and a leaver. He can't be both.

Re: Brexit Round 2

......Can I ask you a personal question? Have you voted Labour in any of the last 3 elections? I believe I understand why you would want to ask that Monty, but I last voted Labour 1n '97 & although initially I was impressed those scam-merchants left a bitter taste. Fwiw, until his shameless dep...

Re: Brexit Round 2

Any political leader who wants to bring the country together can not wish away the votes of 17 million who wanted to leave,...... I think by now almost everyone must realise that they didn't "vote to leave" IMO most of them voted to "regain control" & " stop wasting the...

Re: Brexit Round 2

Any political leader who wants to bring the country together can not wish away the votes of 17 million who wanted to leave, any more than they can ignore the 16 million who voted to remain. Whatever happens it's a no win for a lot of people, but May has somehow managed to do a deal that's a no win f...

Re: Brexit Round 2

Well as one of you normally votes Lib Dim (apart from that one time at band camp) and the other one doesn’t vote, neither of you will actually get a say.

Re: Brexit Round 2

She's a Socialist D, you'd hate her.

She also worked for Tony Blair for a bit, but I won't hold that against her. Everyone is allowed to make some mistakes.
