Re: Brexit Round 2

The general election will go ahead with the Brexit clock ticking. If May cancelled Brexit before a GE she would end the Tory party. The best you can hope for is an extension She is doing a damn good job of finishing the Tory party anyway :D how they ever expect to encourage young people to join the...

Re: Brexit Round 2

If she loses the next one next week, does that mean we have a GE? In which case I presume common sense would mean that Article 50 is revoked before an election?

Re: Brexit Round 2

TBH i thought democracy was based on telling the truth, something the majority of Brexit has failed to do. Anyway past giving a **** now, this Country is about to crash and burn big time. If anyone fancies going to sleep here is the Govt advice.......... https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/how...

Re: Brexit Round 2

Law can be changed. Its not speculation. There will be barriers between the UK and EU as each will be what is called a third country to each other. That will mean there must be border checks otherwise anything and everything can be imported and exported without any jurisdiction at all which is far w...

Re: Brexit Round 2

So do you think its acceptable that imports and exports to the EU will come to a standstill, Blade? If we are at a stalemate now, what will happen then?

At some point the UK and EU will have to agree some sort of deal so they may as well do it now before the shit hits the fan.

Re: Brexit Round 2

I’m as certain as I can ever be that if we have No deal then I will have no work to do and no income come the Spring.

Re: Brexit Round 2

We may as well pack up now if that’s the case. It will be like hitting a brick wall cone 29 March.

Re: Brexit Round 2

Interesting that both Rees-Mogg and Johnson are now saying we need some agreement.

I suspect they might be thinking that Brexit may never happen now.

Re: Brexit Round 2

There should have been a cross Party coalition from the very start on this.

Its too important to leave to Party politics and should be above that. But still they carry on in the same vein.

**** the lot of them, frankly.

Who told you that? And why would you believe anyone at the moment?

If you believe the press, he's both simultaneously a remainer and a leaver. He can't be both.

Maybe he should come out and say what he beiIeves in then. Unequivocally.

Re: Brexit Round 2

We have two completely useless and ineffectual 'leaders'. Corbyn wants to leave but is leading a party where the majority of members want to remain. May wants to remain but is leading a Party who want to leave. Political dogma has overtaken common sense. No car manufacturers in the UK are prepared t...

Re: Brexit Round 2

The only realistic option if May loses is to have another referendum with new rules to prevent lies being told as fact and proper layout of how it will all work. It would be interesting to know who brought up the agenda for the last one. It’s been such a shambles that heads should roll and the truth...

Re: Brexit Round 2

I think Brexit has its own set of legislation. It was deliberately written to try and make it impossible to undo and no debate within Parliament. Parliament and some MPs have now undone that.

Something like that, i think. She ( or anyone else on Brexit) can no longer make decisions without the approval of Parliament as a whole.

Re: Brexit Round 2

Sadly not. Its too complex for me.

There was an amendment made in Parliament last week compelling the PM to come back with new options within 3 days of her deal being thrown out.
