Re: What are you doing today ??
Today I have been having a good rummage through the cupboards in the kitchen looking at the wiring and plumbing in this old house... Consumer unit.. nope, old wire Fuses with a pack of fuse wire. Gas meter was brand new in 1990, so not earth bonded and on lead pipes, 3 different companies have sent ...

Re: What are you doing today ??
Today I had a test drive in a newer car, a 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric.
I hope I don't regret putting a deposit on it and I fully intend to make use of the free EV charging at work, free tax and quiet driving... It is very easy to let my speed creep up with no engine noises though.

I washed the bike then took my parents to hospital for my dad's ECG check in the car, and when we got there the rear passenger door would not open, the deadlock in the latch has stuck on so that's tomorrow's job.
Dismantle the door with it stuck closed, sounds fun

Hospital for an adrenal function test, they took blood, pumped something into me to activate my adrenalin production then let me cook for half an hour, took more blood then off I go. I didn't get aggressive at all, just very flushed and some stomach pain... What a fun way to spend the day. I even ma...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today I'm waiting for a break in the rain to give it a wash after a day out yesterday. Yesterday I went up to Drumlanrig castle with Gaz and met Paul up in Carlisle... 451 miles in 1 day and no problems at all, the bike does drink more fuel on high speed cruising but we came home on motorways and th...

Re: Work
They expect us to use POA, period of availability which is neither working time or a break... In the EU it's classified as a break. I refuse to use it while making a delivery because I'm working, I'm in the trailer doing things for the company so that's working time. All the short shifts are going t...

Re: Work
Got some toxic and useless managers at work at the moment, they plan our workload and have all the up to date info from our tachometer cards right there on the computer, they are consistently overbooking drivers and making barely vailed threats if we try to refuse a delivery for any reason but here'...

Re: NEW Bike day-ish, GS Round 2
Yeah it's a Heinz 57 alright, it works though except that seat... I just specced this bike up and it's £15K as it sits, I think that's too much for this. I got the big GS for 18 with all the bells whistles and panniers included. I kinda want to ride the Tiger 900 now to see what it's like, but the d...

Re: NEW Bike day-ish, GS Round 2
Today the bike is in for it's software update and oil level sensor, for a loaner I had booked a R1250RS but it has been sold, so they offered me the 1250R, the R9T urban, F900XR like I used to own or the F900GSA. I picked the GSA to see what it's like, I'm already very familiar with the engine so it...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
About 260 miles up to the lakes to see some friends I've not seen for a while, with lunch at the Patterdale hotel. No smoke at all today which is nice, but also odd given last weeks smoke show, and I really like the Dunlop Meridians. They are quicker steering than the RS4's but that could be the dif...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I suspect valve stem seals as it never smokes while riding even when using a lot of engine braking, if it was the rings then engine braking would pull oil past them. It only smokes after it's been left off for a while and even then it's unpredictable. Before that video the bike was untouched for 6 d...

Re: NEW Bike day-ish, GS Round 2
Long time no update, today the bike is sat in the garage with axle stands under the fork's, it's tyre time again. After the dealership serviced it last week and offered to replace the RS4's for a sniff over £400 I rang my regular motorcycle tyre place, Bike Tyres Leeds and got a quote for £316 for t...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Rode it toa new-to-us cafe near Sandsend just north of Whitby. Ham and cheese toastie with coffee and cake, very nice (nod) But on the first startup this morning the bike smoked like never before, and barely a wisp for the rest of the day... I might add the video after dinner. https://imgur.com/a/if...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today I took it to the dealers for it's 6K service and to have a couple of minor issues looked at. They have agreed that the oil level sensor is faulty and they have a used one on a warranty engine to try, if that works they will order a new one under warranty. The smoking on startup issue didn't ha...
