Re: What are you doing today ??

Having a well earned beer after the fire ground training. Been lugging casualties round smoke filled modules up ladders and down stairs with internal temps in access of hundreds of degrees thanks to multiple big class A and B fires. To say I'm totally fooked now is an under statement last time I fe...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

You can't swim and you work in the middle of the ocean? Absolutley not. The lowest level of the platform is 14 m above the water, and you need all manner of permits to access the jacket legs below cellar deck, plus working at heights considerations, sea conditions etc etc. And thats in full safety ...

I chipped in $20. My eldest daughter has Aspergers Syndrome which falls on the Autism spectrum. I can only imagine how difficult things could (and would) be if she had low a functioning form of Autism. I only wish I had more patience. Good Luck!! Wazza (formerly Bluedaytona02 from D6.0rg) Cheers Wa...

Cool I'll have a look later see what I can do. Looks like a great event :) It is a great event Cookie, the atmosphere is crazy, plenty of supporters lining the road, I must have high fived a couple of hundred kids last year! :D The main drama last year was not having run it since '97 I had no offic...

If you've had a look through the Fitness thread lately you may have noticed I'm doing a far wack of running recently. I'm currently training for the City2Surf 14 km run on the 10 August. As the name suggests it starts in the heart of the Sydney CBD and finishes out at Bondi Beach. It's a very well a...

Re: Starting problem

Plugs are about 5k old never changed the fuel filter is it in the tank attached to the pump? Yup it is mate. Easy to change, but requires you to empty tank, remove it , and remove the pump/filter assy from the bottom of the tank. I'd eliminate all the easy access stuff first, but it would be up the...

Re: Is biking in the blood?

My dad has had at least one bike in the garage since he was 15. I was riding with him from about 8. My sister (from his second marrigae) lives in the States now and owns her own bike. I've had a bike since 16, excpet for a 4 yr break. But took a big break from road bikes and did a lot of trail ridin...

Over looked this thread, but it's a slow work day today.. learnt a fair bit about some people I've known 'online' for a few years! I'm Paul, 42, a kiwi (Obviously!) but live in Aussie (13 yrs), just out of Sydney metro in the hills (Kurrajong Heights). Married to an Aussie bird, two kids, 7 yr old b...

Re: The new improved fitness thread

Blood sugars were sky high (16.1) this evening, not helped by a trip to Loaf on my way back from hospital...so I went for a speedy (for me) walk - 2.52 miles in 40 minutes at an average of about 3.5mph. It had the desired effect and my sugars had dropped to normal (6.2) when I got back. I think it ...

recovery run this morning.. a lazy 11 km.. wtf.. this training plan is ramping up a fair bit. Hill (or incline out here) intervals yesterday... I told the treadmill I hated it when I walked into the gym at 4.15 am this morning. Training and 12 hr shifts are proving to be more mentally tough than I t...
